Your Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s day is a great time to appreciate your dad or the father figure in your life. Yet it can be tough to figure out what to get him! (But really…I know the struggle!) For many of us, we ask our dads what they want and they might say something along the lines of “I don’t care. I don’t need anything!” (At least that’s how it always seems with my dad!)

As an adult, those finger paintings aren’t going to cut it anymore. You need something that really shows how much you appreciate him.

Here is my list of 10 things your dad will actually want this year for Father’s day!

BBQ Sports Team Spatula

This is a great gift for the dad who LOVES sports and grilling. You can get a spatula of the football team that your dad loves the most. As he is grilling and watching his team, he can show his support by using this spatula to make the grub!

Nike Free Runs

These can be a bit more on the expensive side, but your dad will love these. They are the hip shoes for any age and not to mention super comfortable! My husband LOVES these shoes. There are tons of different colors to choose from so that you can pick the color your dad would like best. Show your dad you care by giving him some stylish shoes this year!

Phone Case

This is actually a very hard shopping item for men! They know they need one and they want one that REALLY protects, yet they don’t care about style. A phone case is a great gift because there are plenty out there that have great protection, but still have a simple and nice style! Depending on what your dad likes, there are plenty of colors and styles to choose from out there and with your help, he can finally have one that doesn’t look just like a brick! 😉

A New Man Cave Sign

Man caves are all the rage these days and if your dad doesn’t have one, then a sign might give him some motivation to get one! Even if he doesn’t have his own personal space, a man cave sign would look great next to his BBQ. This is a great way to show your appreciation for all the years he has grilled up some amazing meals for you!

Spending Quality Time Together

This may sound cliché but as an adult child now, your dad may not get to spend very much time with you. Planning a day out with your dad may be just what he wants for his day! You can get some matching sports T’s and take him to see his favorite team (or at least a team he likes). If he isn’t a sports fan, then you can grab your beach towels and spend the day at the ocean or lake. Whatever it is that your dad enjoys doing, he would love to bring you along to spend time together!

Personalized Beer Glass

A personalized beer glass is a super great gift. Even if he does not drink beer, he will still love this for his favorite drink. You can personalize these to say whatever you want. I don’t know about your dad, but my dad loves these. Men just get a kick out of drinking a cold beer out of their own personal glass.

A New T-shirt

For many men, shopping is not high on their list of priorities. I know it definitely isn’t for my dad and father-in-law. So whenever we vacation, our go-to souvenir for the men in our life is a new t-shirt. A t-shirt is great for your dad and will save him the trouble of having to get one for himself or continuing wearing that one with all the holes that still stinks no matter how many times they wash it… Yeah you know that one!

Try out the local skate/surf shops for a new t-shirt. They have something no matter how old you are!

A Gift Card to His Favorite Restaurant

You know the phrase “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”? Well we ALL know that this is true! A gift card to his favorite restaurant or even taking him there on Father’s day will make for a great day. Not only will he get quality time with you, but he will also get to enjoy his favorite meal! If he can’t decide, then choose one with food you know he will like and surprise him!

Gym Headphones

Headphones are a great gift for your dad this year! Whether he likes going to the gym or not, headphones are a must! For many people who have Dish (I believe it’s Dish) they haven’t been able to watch the Dodger games this year. (I know it’s so sad!) Whenever there is a game on, my dad just has to watch and listen to the play-by-plays on his phone. Well this can be difficult to do while he is trying to cook dinner, clean up, or get anything done. Headphones allow him to walk around and do whatever he needs to do while listening to the game. They also are a must have when he goes out on runs or heads to the gym. Be sure to get some that don’t fall out while working out! That is a HUGE pet peeve for my dad.

A Laser Pointer

This might have you confused as to why it is on the list, but my husband and I tested this one out on a couple of dads to see if it would be a big hit and we were not disappointed. In fact, our expectations were exceeded! We lent my husband’s laser pointer out to a few dads to see how they would like it and they all ended up wanting their own! They spent time shining it across their yard, pointing them up to the stars, and messing with their pets. This is basically a toy for dads. You can even point out specific stars in the night sky!  I highly recommend this one!

Hope this helps you out when deciding what to get your dad this year! If you have any other ideas, I would love to hear!
